Trivia Question❓What historic event took place in Whatcom County in 1858 that led to the establishment of Fort Bellingham? Answer at the bottom of the newsletter |
Van Vino Vineyard is owned by Dave VanWingerden and managed by his daughter and son-in-law, Zach and Barb Delooff. The name "Van Vino" combines Dave's Dutch last name with the Italian word for wine, reflecting his heritage. Dave bought land between two properties he owned and decided to plant two acres with eight different grape varieties recommended by Cloud Mountain Farms. After experimenting with winemaking as a hobby, the family decided to take it more seriously. They purchased additional grape varieties from an Eastern Washington winery and brought in Zach as Vigneron and Winemaker. Using estate and Red Mountain fruit, they produce award-winning wine in small batches. The entire family is involved in the business, from planting and growing grapes to blending, bottling, and selling the wine. Van Vino wine club is a true family affair dedicated to producing high-quality wine. |
